Kitchen Remodel - Santa Clara

Before

This project began as a 1950's home in Santa Clara, near Santa Clara University. Bauman Builders was hired to renovate the kitchen, which had minimal storage and few updates since the house was originally built. In addition to replacing cabinets and counters, new windows and doors were also installed.

In Progress

In this small space, one of the difficulties was that the original door swung into the kitchen, making it difficult to use the back patio as an extension of the kitchen during summer months when the owners liked to barbeque. Bauman Builders suggested replacing the in-swing door with an out-swing door, to keep the walkway open. The home owners wanted air flow through the kitchen during hot summer months, so a french door with an operable sash was installed to make that possible.

After

The finished kitchen has more than doubled the build in storage space for the clients. A blue glass tile backsplash complements the granite countertops. A stone look ceramic tile floor was installed for easy maintenance. Exposed beams accent the high cathedral ceiling.
